Our History

Our history

Our beginning

We commenced trading in November 2013 as AVG Forensic

Our founder, Adam Vincent Giliberti, worked as a forensic accountant and valuation professional within various international, multi-disciplinary, consulting firms, including one of the Big 4 accounting firms. The driver for Adam starting his own boutique firm was simple, largely borne out of a frustration that many professionals have experienced in their own career journey.

The big firms he worked in were faced with conflict of interests, often determined by others for commercially motivated reasons.  Further the firms he worked in, were subject to culture changes and red-tape as a result of the firm merging with or being acquired by another firm or exploring the possibility of merging with another firm.   Adam felt he could deliver a superior level of service to clients without these distracting issues.

Law and accounting firms often named by the founding owners.  AVG Forensic was no different in that regard.

Our future starts with a new business name

Our new name reflects one of our core values

*Acuity* Forensic is synonymous with clarity.  Our brand image (shown on the right) represents the process we go through to distil and present clarity.

In complex disputes and litigation, there is typically multiple contentious matters over disagreement between parties.  The financial outcome in relation to the dispute is often a function of the agreed or decided outcome on a number of non-financial matters in contention.

The culmination of our process is to communicate our expert advice and expert opinions into clear and easy to digest outputs which can be understood by adversarial

parties, other experts, lawyers and judges.

ACUITY FORENSIC is about helping clients obtain a fair and sensible resolution to financial matters in dispute

"Reflecting over our first 10  years of operation, I am so grateful for the trust and loyalty of our referrers over the past decade. It is with immense pride to say that we have been trusted by international law firms, national law firms and top-tier boutique law firms who represent many blue-chip corporate and government clients, to help them resolve their clients’ contentious financial matters in dispute, inside or outside of court proceedings."

- Adam Giliberti, Founder of Acuity Forensic

We believe our core values and our approach are the drivers for achieving a fair and sensible resolution to any financial dispute.

Having clarity of thought is only part of the story.  Clarity of communication is key.  Communication requires attentive listening in meetings, procuring the appropriate documents to form part of the evidence, and financial analysis skills.   This is the process we go through, which is distilled into expert advice, expert reports and expert testimony.
